Position Title: ARD Facilitator – Middle School

Reports To: Campus Principal & Director of Special Education

Location: Marble Falls Middle School

Job Summary

The Middle School ARD (Admission, Review, and Dismissal) Facilitator plans, organizes, and manages the special education ARD committee process to ensure compliance with federal (IDEA), state (TEA), and district guidelines. This role coordinates committee meetings, compiles required documentation, and collaborates with parents, campus administrators, special education teachers, and related service personnel to support students during critical middle school transitions.

Key Responsibilities

1. ARD Coordination & Compliance

  • Schedule and facilitate all initial, annual, brief, and revision ARD/IEP committee meetings for middle school students.
  • Ensure strict adherence to timelines and procedural safeguards mandated by IDEA, Texas Education Code, and local policy.
  • Maintain accurate, compliant special education records and documentation within the district’s IEP software.
  • Coordinate language accommodations and interpreter services for ARD meetings as required.
2. Collaboration & Team Leadership

  • Serve as the liaison between campus administration, special education staff, general education teachers, related service providers, and parents.
  • Lead ARD meetings in a collaborative, solution-oriented manner that fosters trust and open communication with families.
  • Partner with high school and elementary ARD facilitators to ensure smooth academic and developmental transitions for incoming 6th graders and outgoing 8th graders.
3. Data & Program Support

  • Gather and review assessment data, progress reports, IEP goal updates, and accommodations prior to meetings.
  • Assist campus staff in drafting appropriate Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs), and accommodations.
  • Provide guidance to general and special education staff regarding legal requirements, instructional accommodations, and IEP implementation.

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university (Master’s degree in Special Education or Educational Leadership preferred).
  • Certifications: Valid Texas Special Education Certificate; Teacher or Administrator certification preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum of 3–5 years of successful teaching experience in Special Education (middle school experience preferred).

Knowledge & Skills

  • In-depth knowledge of special education law, IDEA regulations, and the Texas ARD process.
  • Strong organizational, time management, and conflict resolution skills.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills for working with diverse families and multidisciplinary teams.
  • Proficiency with IEP management software (e.g., eSped, Frontline) and student information systems.
